Space Nazis

One of the few worthwhile contributions the Call of Duty franchise has made to cultural zeitgeist is, naturally something with very little to do with the primary thrust of the series: Nazi Zombies. The insanely fun and brutally difficult survival challenge mode began as unlockable content in 2008's World at War, but was quickly elevated to home-menu status in 2010's Black Ops, probably due to the fact that developer Treyarch felt that forcing players to complete Black Ops' campaign constituted cruel and unusual punishment.

The good news is, there is absolutely no need to resort to the Call of Duty franchise for your pulpy slice of Nazi science, because Space Nazis are coming.

The over-the-top Finnish sci-fi/comedy has been on the radar for quite some time, and is notable for a few reasons:

  1. Space Nazis
  2. The film has used crowd-sourced fundraising.
  3. The special effects look top notch, especially for a crowd-sourced comedy.
  4. There are space Nazis, who are in space, and are also Nazis.
Pretty sexy, right? (If you said "Yeah," you qualify as a Nazi sympathizer.)
As the film nears its March 4th, 2012 release, promotional shots are dropping like Nazi spaceships during earthfall. Head over to TwitchFilm to check the rest out. (Being an actual website, they have powerful slideshow technology that we just can't muster.)

Also, be sure to check out the Iron Sky site, where you can "demand" the film. It bothers me how readily "demand" made it into the lexicon.
